4th of july weekend! not really the patriotic type, but loves any reason to theme things out and celebrate!

last week was really busy getting ready and performing like a dancing monkey for my open classes~which turned out really well. my 5 yr olds killed it using props to demonstrate their understanding of prepositions~seriously these kids are so smart and so quick to learn, im so proud of them. my second open class was with my older kinder boys who were really, really naughty, but the lesson was amazing [pat on back] and i had tons of props and pictures and displays for the kids to interact with

thursday finalized our philippines trip by booking and paying for our hotel~so nice~3 [i think] hotel pools, waterfall, on the beach, pool and beach cabanas, massages on the beach~less than three weeks and counting until departure! went for iced coffees, a delish italian dinner and a nice, warm night out in the park

friday was such a long, ridiculous days. the days get longer as the week goes by; i have kindergarteners longer than usual fridays, the least amount of breaks and the kids just seem naughtier those days. cranky kristina teacher. after work went out for a drink and missioned to costco for our bbq supplies. id like to say how ridiculously korean i officially am [yes, just now] they ran out of chicken bakes so i had a BULGOGI bake bahahahaha [not to mention later that night i 'cheers-ed' with my wine, then 'one-shotted' it followed by an ajussi 'ahhh!'] came back to the bucheon and did another homeplus run for more supplies. poor mama had to have a minor surgery, but was in the hospital all weekend~i hate hate hate being all alone [esp at night, scary!] so i had the girls over for a cupcake marathon, sleep deprived, delusionally baking until 3am

sat went and saw mama-brought her ice cream and kept her company~then to abbys for our 3rd of july bbqz!

headed over to the park for drinks, awesome band, dancing, korean bbq dinner, fireworks, norae bang and ended the night with a slumber partayyyyy~

it was also the release of the 4th neh magazine with our article and picture! it was a lot of fun to write, just being silly, writing about what we've learned and our experiences~awesome to see in print, and since this pic isnt clear enough, you can check out the link, page 11 if you want to read it

sunday [today] picked mama up from the hospital to bring her home, slept in the afternoon, back to the girls' where the kiddy pool was shut down by an angry ajussi security guard, tanned on the roof, then a ridiculous shopping spree with abby [ridiculously good, but ridiculously spending the last of my paycheck until next weekend and more~!]

in closing to my interest in the world cup [both korea and the us are out]-i needed to make sure to include these photos
last week? i think it was...[the days blend]
this game between korea and nigeria was oober important, in order for them to advance, only problem-the game started at 330am
i went home and took a nap for a couple hours and headed over to the bar to watch the game-wasnt sure how many ppl would be wathcing until walking past all the hofs and restaurants

waiting for the game to start

xcore-went out in sweats and glasses

heading home with other happy voyeurs at 530am

post game, post work out, ready to teach with the opposing argentinan team

big weekend in busan
we met at the park and i grabbed some dinner and a drink
little did i know the rush we were to head out
we jumped on a bus to seoul station only to hit lovely hongdae traffic
counting minutes and running off the bus, up and down stairs, through transfers, ran to the the ktx tracks, literally ONE minute late watching our train pull out and into the distance...bummer

did some rearranging so that we could take a train into daejon and then transfer to busan
norae bang, cupcakes, jack daniels, beer and vodka made for an entertainging ride over [i dropped the vodka at daejon and watched it shatter to the ground...sorry guys]

got into busan after 330 and taxied to our minbak by the beach
per dougs [relentless] requests, 4am kimchi chiggae was in order, then we headed to the ca$inozzz
us girls played around with the slots, i won 40bucks :D
when we got out it was light and we were able to stick our toes in the water and headed to bed

or shall i say a nap...up half past noon and headed over to the fuzzy navel for runchy
mmm messican-pina coladas
what started out as lunch and cocktails ended up as a 4 hour drinking brigade in the bar
it was so nice and open and the bartenders were awesome [and cute]
jennifer let me take body shots off her and they had the best iced blended drinks everrr
got pretty retarded and decided to head out around 5pm [you know when normal ppl start drinking] and threw ourselves into the ocean
did i mention it was raining, or shall i say, pouring the whole time!
thatll sober you up, getting sloshed around in the shorebreak

starbucks for some hot chai
showered and went back out for korean bbq dinner
got geared up for the korea vs.uraguay game on the beach!
the girls wussied out and got sick and left
it rained, but the crowds were insane and the atmosphere cheering on the sand with a beer was epic [despite the hike to the bathroom]

headed back wet and soggy to the minbak, only to get dry and going again
headed back to the ca$ino where i played at my first black jack table ever
it was sooo much fun [esp when i was winning]
its really sobering trying to do math and add my cards hahah
quite some interesting characters at our table
i doubled my money [at one point hahaha] but got sloppy and broke even
regardless, im dying to go back and try my luck again [sometime soon please!]

by then i was ready to go back, but the other remaining three troopers insisted on watching the us game [i srsly dont even remember who they played against]
yeahh they lost and it wasnt nearly as fun as the korea games...
back in bed again by daybreak

not much time to recover from my weekend as i jumped right into an open class week
prepped last night AND all night tonight AND went grocery shopping AND worked out AND did laundry
my 5 yr olds kicked ass today and i have 7 yr olds tmrw, finishing off next week with another openclass-overrrrr it

4th of july this weekend! more madness to ensue

so my weekender is a little late, but theres been so much going on!
where to begin
monday- was the longest day in history, so tired; still had to run errands, drop off alterations and grabbed some dinner with mama
tuesday-picked up my clothes, went out to watch the nz vs.slovakia world cup game at rnb
wednesday-did some shopping and despite getting back at 1030, still managed an hour work out
thursday-took my first graders for ice cream at mcdonalds down the street, just because i wanted to get out of school haha; and my school is so anal about open classes-we were filmed and shown our teaching for feedback and critique-whateverrr. ashley's sister just came in so we took her for korean bbq then fought our way among masses of people sitting outside eating and drinking to watch the korea vs. algeria game. and if you didnt already know, korea got raped up the butt...
friday-kindergarten bebz had a field trip so we went to some dental clinic and then to a rose garden. it was so so so so hot and terrible sticky, we had to end the trip short and got back for runchy.

after a long day of teaching rushed home and ready to take some photos for the upcoming neh magazine. abby, jen and i were asked to write a fun little 'only in korea' page, which i guess got good reviews. we took pictures for the article and were asked to write every month!
after mini shoot, went for a late dinner and caught part of the us game
tekillah shots, norae bang, then back to ashley's for a slumber party only to see the sun rise

saturday-lounged around, got abby to deliver mcdonalds to us [despite the fact the mcdonalds was only a block away-we love you abby]
rushed home to get ready and out to seoul to watch a baseball game. shetty thing, we went to see the dusan bears, but there wasnt enough room for all of us to sit together, so we had to sit on the opponents side! it was my first live sporting event, but it was fun after i started to understand what was happening [i like soccer better]

sunday moring-up bright and early by 6am. took a cab to the subway station, transferred lines, walked to the bus station, got on an hour and a half bus ride to the country side, and picked up by a shuttle...to go RIVER RAFTING! now let me tell you, this has been on my to-do-list for quite some time! esp. from hawaii, we cant just do stuff like this.
id like to point out how brave i was to swim in water that i couldnt see my feet in. i even swallowed some water and didnt cry about it!

another be-proud-of-kristina moment[s] i could care less about sports, but im pretty sure i watched 3 1/2 soccer games and a 3 hour baseball game ALL IN ONE WEEK!
tomorrow we're all going to watch the last korean scheduled game at...330am! yep, taking a nap then back out to the bar to catch the game-yeehee!

big weekend in front of us...details to come

im completely in love with summer and its in full gear, quite possibly my last summer in korea, going at it with a bang!

saturday went shopping-i have a love affair with myeongdong and H&M summer stuff is so cute! fabulous day of retail therapy despite the monsoon-like rains
rushed back to watch the world cup:korea vs greece
if you know me, you know i dont follow sports, i borderline hate it actually
but with the correct gear, crowd, and booze, it was awesome! korea fighting~!
